Corewell Health Place is the new central home for the thousands of office staff who help one of Michigan’s major health system providers run their wide array of medical facilities throughout the region. The 300,000 sq. ft. office hub included an eight-story office building connected via a two-level connector bridge to a renovated four-story office building, two new parking structures and a pavilion space created for gathered learning. The campus includes an on-site fitness facility, game room for employees, and a large dedicated event space.
The new building replaces an old one with massive solid concrete foundations. Rockford’s team saw an opportunity for reuse, crushing and repurposing more than 20,000 tons of the old concrete for the new building and parking decks. This reduced overall material, landfill waste and trucking miles – all of which are good for the environment.
