This project involved a phased conversion of an existing, dry goods distribution facility into a fully automated, cross dock, multi-product distribution hub. The facility continued to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, during the entire project. It features a $1.8 million refrigeration and control system, full-building automation system, and automatic humidification system and misting system. Also provided was special product/flammable liquid storage fire protection, a LAN system, an extensive fire and smoke alarm system, CCTV, and communications equipment.
Phase 2 included the construction of an environmentally-controlled frozen food shipping/receiving dock along with the construction of a 75,000 sq. ft.. minus 10-degree freezer addition. Features included $200,000 worth of dry system fire protection, refrigeration/controls, fire and smoke alarms, CCTV, and security and communication systems. Phase 3 included the construction of a new 250,000 sq. ft. area of dry goods, rack, dock equipment, and over 1.5 miles of new conveyor.
