Located in Detroit’s Woodbridge neighborhood, Osi Art Apartments is a four-story, mixed-use development featuring artistic-themed design including a saw-tooth roof and a red and yellow facade mural designed in collaboration with artist, Osi Audu. Osi Art Apartments is the first project in the larger West End Gallery District vision that will celebrate art and culture through a collection of retail, restaurants, bars, galleries and mixed-use housing.
The development will be comprised of 30 apartment units ranging from studio to two-bedroom. Half of the units will be reserved as affordable housing for those at 80% of the area median income. Each unit will offer contemporary amenities, open-kitchen design, balconies and use of direct sunlight. In addition to housing, the space will house 5,000 sq. ft. of rentable commercial space as well as a 1,856 sq. ft. cultural gallery showcasing art from local, national and international artists. The mechanical systems utilized will reduce energy consumption, maintenance costs and living costs.
This project is the first to receive an investment from the Detroit Housing for the Future Fund.
