Sustainability, reuse of existing materials and a respect for existing structures are all critical components of our construction process. For GT Independence, a national leader in financial management services for self-directed in-home and community-based care, these factors came into play as we renovated a former newspaper facility into a new, state-of-the art office building.
Prior to the renovation work, the Rockford team partnered with GT Independence to secure the proper zoning approvals, setbacks and parking requirements for the project. Then, utilizing a design build approach, we developed in-house conceptual designs, working with GT Independence to create a work environment conducive to employee engagement, company culture and overall satisfaction. Work included removing a large-scale ink vat, upgrading all mechanical systems for energy efficiency and installing floor-to-ceiling windows to bring ample natural light into the space.
The new, 13,000-sq.-ft. open office concept provides plenty of room for employees to work along with private offices and training facilities for GT Independence’s continued growth and development.
