With more than 4,000 locally sourced products available, Bridge Street Market is — quite simply — nirvana for those looking to support local in Grand Rapids. The 37,000-sq.-ft. market, which opened in August 2018, recently celebrated its 2-year anniversary and is thriving on the city’s West Side. While the everyday low prices and quality products have remained consistent in those two years, the market now also features Tillie Ruth’s, a local café offering every beverage you could possibly desire, West Side Deli, a sandwich shop from the owners of Two Beards Deli that features locally themed sandwiches with names like Rockford and Hendrik (we’re honored!), and a sushi bar with options available for half-price every Wednesday. And if that wasn’t enough, there are also thousands of grocery and household essentials available for all your shopping needs.
We sat down with Bridge Street Market to chat more about the store and its unique place in Grand Rapids.

What’s your favorite thing about operating a business in Grand Rapids?
Our local community! The West Side is a tight-knit group, and we’re so grateful to be a part of it.
What’s the most satisfying part about serving your customers and the community?
We are fortunate to be a catalyst for change, and our community members and loyal shoppers are essential to helping make this happen. We love when we can source new products or specialty items for our community to meet a need not met elsewhere. If shoppers have feedback about our selection or wish to see a specific product on our shelves, we’re always eager to work hard to meet those needs.
Why did you join the Rock Perks program? What benefits has it brought to your business and your customers?
We love working with Rockford! We joined the Rock Perks program to connect with our local community and Rockford residents.
What’s on the horizon for Bridge Street Market?
This year, our focus is on serving the community and being a place to go for all your daily grocery needs, as well as a place to support local businesses in West Michigan. We’re excited to continue to bring new restaurant partners into our Grand Rapids To-Go ready-to-eat meal program. We’ve also added Shipt, a service that will shop for and deliver groceries from Bridge Street Market to your door in just a couple hours. Plus, we recently added the capability to earn and redeem mPerks rewards in the market. Lastly, we’re excited to launch gift cards in the market this fall! Stay tuned for more details.
