Rock Perks: A Day in the Life

Living at Fulton Place in downtown Grand Rapids has its perks … literal perks. At every Rockford Property Management community, residents are connected to local businesses through the Rock Perks program. From restaurants to hotels, yoga studios and beyond, there’s a discount available for nearly any need.

As a Community Ambassador for Rockford, I create monthly posts highlighting my favorite things about living at Fulton Place. With each post, I incorporate the #RCommunity hashtag, but had never given much thought to the meaning behind it. Now, reflecting on my experiences interacting with local business throughout the area, I’ve come to better appreciate not only the hashtag, but what Rockford is doing for us residents and the wider community.

Imagine waking up every morning to coffee directly outside your front door. Sound like you’re still dreaming? Nope! Fulton Place is connected to Shift Coffee + Culture, a unique coffee shop just steps away from my apartment. Luckily, I got to experience their grand opening and have seen their business flourish since then. Shift offers delicious drinks and food from local bakeries, all while supporting minority-owned businesses!

What’s after coffee? You guessed it, breakfast! One of my favorite breakfast spots in Grand Rapids is just 3 minutes away from my apartment: Morning Belle. Morning Belle offers the perfect kick-start to my day with fresh, made-to-order meals and a trendy aesthetic. (P.S. Order the cinnamon roll, you can thank me later!)

The Aroma Labs

Let’s end our adventure with an incredible interactive experience at The Aroma Labs. This is an excellent place for groups – friends, family or co-workers – to hang out and create a signature scent. During the experience, you smell various scents and combine your favorites into your own custom fragrance. From here, the scent can be transformed into perfume, lotion, car freshener and more.
